You know those fairy tales about elves who have amazing magical shoe cobbling powers, making quick work of busted shoes during the night while the real human cobbler sleeps? I think those fairy tales were based on Arturo. Not that he's an elf, he's actually a lovely old man with a surprising sense of humor, but he works that kind of magic on shoes (and purses too, although I'm much nicer to my purses than my shoes and have yet to need him for that). The prices are good, though be sure to bring cash, and everybody is always lovely and polite. I can not tell you how grateful I am that my office is in walking distance of this place, I can't imagine taking my shoes anywhere else.

Don't know what you got til it's gone... Tom Keifer was so right (even if grammatically questionable). I always brought my shoes here and they were always returned to me in pristine condition - he resoled, adjusted slingbacks, reheeled, what have you, and not a sign that they had been taken apart. Open a branch in NY already!]
